OUR PLAYGROUND

PLAYGROUND CELEBRATION Thursday, May 15th started and ended with perfect weather. The Playground Pavilion Celebration was held at Ridge Ruxton at 5:30 PM and we could not have asked for a better day. The weather held at a balmy 72 degrees and even the Goodyear Blimp made an appearance across the southern sky. Guests included Dr. Joe Hairston, Lyle Patzkowsky, Marcella Franczkowski from BCPS and Meg O'Hare and Audrey Dittman from the Board of Education. State Representative Bill Frank and Willie Fields from Councilman Kamenetz's office also attended. Our guests of honor were the volunteers Reed Brockman, civil engineer from Boston, Lisa Freed, civil engineer from Boston, Kirin Smith, civil engineer from Washington DC and Jeff Kreshtool (and his wife Heller), architect from Baltimore. Without these volunteers, the pavilions would never have happened. The families and friends of Ridge Ruxton brought the total number of guests to well over 200 people that night. It was so good to see all the children playing on the playground and under the pavilions. They really look great! A special thanks goes out to Claire & Dave McGuiness at www.signsbytomorrow.com/Pasadena for the plaque and banner. The number is 410-384-9771. They gave us a great discount and worked well with us. Thank you also goes out to the Corner Stable for the terrific food. I did not hear of one complaint! Finally, to Jasmine Shriver, Melanie Brockman and the Playground committee; after a long year and a half, we are done for now. That is, until the next phase begins!!!
